Public Works Department (Buildings & Roads) - PWD (B&R)

The Buildings and Roads (Except National Highway) in the District are under the charge of the Superintending Engineer, PWD (B&R), Hisar. Under him are two Executive Engineers, Sirsa Provincial Division No. 1 (created in 1966) and Sirsa Provincial Division No. II (in 1978), each heading a separate division located at Sirsa. The Executive Engineers are assisted by 8 Sub-Divisional Officers, who are the incharge of the 6 sub-divisions at Sirsa and one each sub-division at Dabwali and Kalanwali.

1.    Road Works :- 65 New roads for a length of 412.06 Kms have been constructed and 29 No. Roads for a length of 100.80 Km have been improved.

 

2.  Building Works : During this period the following 11 Nos. Major Buildings   have been completed :-

 

                1. 112 Bedded General Hospital Sirsa with residential accommodation.

                2. 60 Bedded General Hospital Dabwali with residential accommodation.

                3. 12 Bays Bus stand at Sirsa.

                4. Mini Secretariat at Sirsa

                5. PWD Rest House at Sirsa

                6. Additional Block with Library at Sirsa

                7. PHC Panniwala Mota

                8. ITI at Chautala.

                9. Revenue Record Room in Mini Secretariat at Sirsa

                10. Servant Quarter, Garrage and Cattle shed in DC residence at Sirsa

                11. Sub Health Centre at Gadrana.

Division No. 2 Sirsa are assisted by 3 No. Sub-Divisional Engineers who are incharge of 2  Nos. Sub Division at Sirsa and one no. Sub-Division at Ellenebad.

 

Achievements of PWD B&R Divn No. II, during 28 years

 

Road Works :-

 

i)                  New Construction : 61 Nos. New roads for a length of 108.80 Km have been constructed.

ii)                Improvement : (Wdg./ Stg.) : 43 Nos. Roads for a length of 184.42 Km have been improved.

iii)              Raising : 32 Nos. Roads for a length of 31.81 Km have been raised.

 

Building Works  :-

 

During this period, the following major buildings have been constructed :

i)                  Govt Polytechnic for Women at Sirsa

ii)                Sahid Raj Guru Govt college at Harish Nagar.

iii)             New Distt Jail Building at Sirsa

iv)              Bus Stand at Rania

v)                Bus Stand at Ellenebad

vi)              Four No. of PHC at village Keharwala, Jagmalera, Malekan, Darbi.

vii)           2 No. Addl. Barracks single storey in Distt Jail at Sirsa.

viii)         Residential houses & warder Hostel in Distt Jail at Sirsa

ix)              CHC at Ellenabad

x)                Remaining residential Houses Distt Jail at Sirsa.

xi)              PWD Rest House at Ellenabad

xii)           Laper Home at Sirsa (Vill Khaja Khera).

 

Bridge Works :

 

        H.L. Bridge over river Ghaggar on Ellenebad – Jiwan Nagar Road has been constructed.
