Social
Welfare Old Age Pension :
The protective
umbrella of Social Security in the form of Old Age Pension was provided to
Old, Destitute Persons in 1964 for the first time. The beneficiaries who are more
than 60 Years of age and permanent resident of Haryana Government get Old Age
Pension @ Rs 300/- per month. Total beneficiaries under the scheme are 65285.
A sum of Rs 161002960/- has been distributed during the Year 2004-2005 as Old
Age Pension. Widow Pension : The scheme was
started during 1979-80. Under this Scheme, Financial Assistance @ Rs 300/-
per month w.e.f. 11/2004 is granted to those Widows
whose annual income is less than Rs 10,000/- per annum and are permanent
resident of Haryana State. A sum of Rs 63274700/- has been distributed to
23191 Widows during the Year 2004-2005 as Widow Pension. Pension to
Physically Handicapped : This Scheme was
started during the Year 1980-81. Under this scheme, Physically Handicapped
persons (aged 18 Years or above) who have no means of subsistence or cannot
do any work to earn their livelihood are eligible for pension @ Rs 300/- per
month (w.e.f. 11/2004) provided that they are
permanent resident of Haryana and physical handicapped percentage is more
than 70 % and annual income is less than 10,000/-. A sum of Rs 15175100/- has
been distributed to 5723 Physically Handicapped Beneficiaries during the
Financial Year 2004-2005. Integrated Child
Development Services Scheme : The Scheme was
introduced in District Sirsa in 1977-78 as Madhosinghana Project which was
later known as Madhosinghana at Sirsa. It was started with 100 Anganwari Centres. Thereafter, in 1983-84, four other
projects started as Ellenabad, Rania, Dabwali and Baragudha and whole area of
Sirsa Distt was covered under this scheme. Odhan and Nathusari Projects were
started in 1991 and 1993 respectively. At present, Seven Projects are
functional and 714 Anganwari Centres are functional
under this scheme. The following
services are provided under this scheme :- Supplementary
Nutrition Programme : Under this programme, the beneficiaries in the age
group of Six Months to Six Years, and Pregnant and lactating mothers are
being covered in AWC's. 300 Calories for children, 500 Calories for mothers,
and 10-12 gram protein for children , 20-25 grams
proteins for mother are being as supplementary feeding. Against a target of
48552 Children in the age group 6 Months to 6 Years, 50563 Children have been
covered during the year 2004-2005 per month. Against the target of 11424
pregnant and lactating mothers, 11949 mothers are being covered in this
component. PreSchool Education : Under this
programme, the children in the age group of 3 to 6 years are being covered.
Against a target of 28560 children, 25287 children were covered per month
during the year 2004-2005. Immunization : Immunization
services are also being provided by ICDS to the beneficiaries covered by AWCs
in the villages with the help of Health Department. This job is performed by
AWWs of ICDS with the assistance of ANMs and LHWs of Health Department. Whole
population of this area is covered in all types of Immunization Programmes
including pregnant mothers and all age group children.
Health Check-up : Under this programme, health check-up of pregnant and nursing
mothers, 6 Months to 6 Years children is being done by Medical Officers, ANMs
and LHWs etc with the cooperation of ICDS staff in AWC's. Weighing of 6
months to 6 years children is also being done under this programme. Medicines
and Medical advice is also being provided by MO to malnourished children and
mothers in AWCs. If severely malnourished case is found, the same can be
referred to Health &
Nutrition Programme : In this programme, the women in the age group of 15-45
Years are being covered and provided Health and Nutrition Education by AWWs,
Supervisors, CDPOs and Personal Hygiene
& Sanitation : Under this programme, the children and women covered in
ICDS Programme are being educated about Personal Hygiene & Sanitation of
their surroundings. Adolescent Girls Scheme : Started in 1994 by Central Government, this scheme
covers Blocks Rania, Ellenabad, Sirsa and Dabwali of District Sirsa. Girls in
the age group of 15 to 18 Years are the beneficiaries. Girls in the age group
of 15 to 18 Years are covered and are imparted different type of Trainings
like Stitching, Painting, Cutting, Dye, Embroidery etc. In addition to this,
they are prepared about their Personal Hygiene, Fundamental Rights and Duties
etc. Now, this Scheme has been shifted in block Baragudha, Odhan and
Nathusari Chopta w.e.f. March 2002. 1100 Adolescent
Girls were covered during the year 2004-2005. Apni Beti Apna Dhan : This Scheme started on Balika Samridhi Yojna : Started on National
Maternity Benefit Scheme : Under this Scheme, a cash payment of Rs 500/- is given
to the pregnant mothers of Below Poverty Line families, wherein, a sum of Rs
20500/- has been distributed among 41 beneficiaries during the year
