GOVT. SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS

A national policy on ICT enabled education as a “Right to Education” assumes greater  significance as the Government of India intends on preparing the future generations to face the challenges of ‘knowledge economy’ of the digital world.

District Sirsa is one of the educationally backward districts of Haryana. There are about 80 Senior Secondary Schools out of which 65 are co-educational. The literacy rate of the district is about 60%. To improve the teaching and learning skills and upgrade the quality of education through Information & Communication Technology(ICT) enabled solutions,  DigiClass Project has been implemented in 70 Sr. Secondary Schools of the district, for which Expression of Interest were invited by the Distt Administration from the ISO 9001:2008 certified firms for Installation of Digital Class Room Teaching by providing equipments, systems, software & operationalisation in identified 70 Govt Schools in Distt Sirsa under BRGF Scheme as per decision taken in the meeting of High Powered committee on BRGF held on 31/7/2012 under the Chairmanship of Chief Secy to Govt Haryana, Chandigarh.

DigiClass is a complete class room solution and provides Multi Media content  i.e. Audiovisual aids like demonstrations, Simulation, rhymes, games, activities sheets, e-books and 3-D  interactivity which makes the learning process much more interesting, effective and fun for students and also leads to better  retention of concepts. The students are taught with ‘Smart Boards’.

DigiClass is a multi media driven solution that aims at converting traditional class into interactive sessions by combining state of the art technology viz. Hardware with syllabus compliant and multi-media content.

Technology based Teaching and Learning process is certainly going to give the students an impetus to attend school regularly, thereby increasing the average attendance performance of students and also contributing to the lower dropout rates. The interactive learning methodology makes learning interesting and helps students understand better resulting into longer retention of knowledge. Through this technology aided learning solutions, the students of rural areas are expected to be benefited significantly.
